join our team

Launching and running a literary magazine is an enormous undertaking. We are currently a team of five dedicated folk running everything from short story acquisition, design, social media, editing, and admin. It’s great fun, but it’s tough.

With that in mind, we’re looking to add to our small team. If you think you could help, and you’d like to get involved in an exciting new literary magazine, then we’d love to hear from you!

First readers

We get a lot of short story submissions and our response time is getting longer. As such, we’d like to add some first readers to our team. This would involve reading submissions when they come in and picking out those you think our editorial team really need to see.

What you get:

  • experience of identifying what works – and what doesn’t work – in a short story

Social media contributors

We want to grow our social media presence to give us the best chance to get our content in front of the widest possible audience. Unfortunately, despite some of our editorial team working in digital comms, this is the one part of the magazine that we’ve not given enough time or effort.

So, if you love social media and want to get involved, we want to hear from you.

What you get:

  • experience of social media and digital comms that could come in handy for your CV

Running a literary magazine is an expensive hobby. So far, the magazine has been completely funded by our Editor-in-Chief. We ultimately want to see Tangled Web Magazine stand on its own two feet.

That’s why we’re looking for someone to help with promoting our patreon site, advertising sales, and any other fundraising ideas. As a start, we hope to have one full-page or two half-page adverts in each issue. We’re not sure where to start with this one, so if you have experience in fundraising and sales, and would like to assist, then please get in touch.

What you get:

  • You keep 10% of the any revenue generated
